The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 942 is a dynamic trade union that represents workers in public and private workplaces across Prince Edward Island.

The diverse list of our membership includes healthcare workers in regulated, administrative and clerical professions, truck drivers, crane operators and ESL teachers, just to name a few.

While IUOE only began operating in PEI in 1963, the union was founded in 1896 in the United States and has been growing ever since. It has more than 400,000 members in 138 local unions throughout Canada and the United States.
